Three weeks after the Six-Day War, my father and I flew to Israel. As Jews, we simply had to be there, to touch Israel’s radiance.

When Israel defeated the surrounding Arab armies in 1967, the Jewish world rejoiced. But the war created lasting challenges, especially how to achieve peace while maintaining security.
