Kudos to Hadassah’s Hospitals
Over the past year, the Hadassah Medical Organization and its medical staff have earned numerous national and international accolades. Here are a few highlights:
• The journal Nature named HMO the No. 1 hospital in Israel for scientific output; its Nature Index, which tracks primary research published in 145 leading nature- and health-science journals, found that, between 2024 and 2025, Hadassah was the most prolific producer of clinical-science research among Israeli hospitals and also ranked the medical center among the world’s top 200 hospitals in research papers.
• Newsweek named HMO a global leader in cardiology and oncology in its “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2026,” marking the sixth consecutive year of recognition for cardiology and the fifth for oncology. Newsweek also included HMO in its “World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026,” citing its use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics and digital health tools.
• Israel’s Ministry of Health ranked HMO first in Jerusalem and second in Israel in a January 2026 report on the quality of care provided by Israeli hospitals’ internal medicine departments, citing HMO’s patient safety and care, reduced waiting times for surgeries and support of its own medical staff.
• The city of Jerusalem has awarded its top honor, the Yakir Yerushalayim, to two Hadassah physicians: cardiologist Dr. Chaim Lotan, president of the Israel Heart Society, and obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Nili Yanai. The annual award is given to Jerusalem residents over the age of 65 who have made lasting contributions to the city.
